I can't believe that this course is almost over....that is absolutely crazy! I am very happy with the way this class has went throughout the semester. At the beginning I was a little nervous because I am not the greatest with online courses. But overall I am very pleased with this class, and feel like I have learned a great amount of very useful information!!:)

Thankful

So basically I just want to say how thankful I am to have such a wonderful family and such great friends!! I was having a stressful week due to do school work, and my family and friends are always the ones that can bring a smile to my face! I honestly don't know what I would do without them!! So a I found a few quotes online that I really liked.....

**"A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out."- Anon

**"Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart."- Anon

**"A true friend is someone who knows there's something wrong even when you have the biggest smile on your face."

**Never apologize for showing feeling. When you do so, you apologize for the truth. ~Benjamin Disraeli

**"The most wasted of all days is the ones without laughter"

**"Life isn't measured by the breaths we take... but by the moments that take our breath away"

A successful week

So this week was a pretty successful week. I feel like I got a lot accomplished, and have been staying up on my assignments in all my classes. I do have to admit that I am a little nervous about the next learning block project. I have never done a podcast before, but hey why not do one now. I am sure it will be fun and interesting like all of the other projects. Over all I am feeling pretty good about school!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!!

Technology

When reading the text book this week I found this information very informational and interesting:

The principles of universal design have emerged from our understanding of the design of physical enviroments for individuals with disabilities. One example, of success of universal design is curb cuts. Originally designed to improve the mobility for people with disabilities within our communities, curb cuts not only accomplish that, but also improve access for people with baby strollers, roller blades, bikes, etc.

Recently, universal design concepts have applied to computers in oder to include disability accessibility software as part of the operating system so that access would be provided as the computer came out of the box (rather than require an individual to track down assistive technology specialists to make specialized modifications.) Today, accessibility control panels are availible on every control panel. I think this is wonderful! (Integrating Educational Technology into Teaching, Ch. 15)

Powerpoint is great!

So...this week was pretty stressful with school, and tennis. Even though school was very stressful and there was a million things I needed to get done, I got it done and am very pleased. Also, tennis season just ended yesterday for good which is sad, but now I will have more time to work on my homework. This Friday and Saturday I am going to Angola for one of my Education classes. The event some of us education majors are going to is called "Geofest". I am excited to learn new things...and I think it will be a wonderful experience!

Yesterday when I was working on my powerpoint I was getting a little irritated at first. But, as I kept working on it everything got easier....and I found new tool to use ion the powerpoint software. I thought this was a great assignment because powerpoints will be good to use in the classroom when teaching!!:)

Technology is Great!

I just would like to say how wonderful the use of technology has been for me this week! I had to miss a few classes this week due to my tennis matches I had to play in, therefore I needed to get my assignments that I needed to make up. All I had to do is e-mail my teachers and ask them what I missed, and I got a response immediately. This was a huge relief for me because I then didn't have to go into the school and track my teachers down. Another way technology has been so wonderful to me this week is through my e-mail account and being able to attach homework assignments in order to open them up at anothr location. I had to do this a few times this week because m printer stopped working and had to print it off at the school. I am so thankful for technology and don't know what I would do without it!!:)

Technology

When reading in chapter three this week I found the drill and practice very interesting. I think the drill and practice is a great idea! In chapter three it stated that, the drill and practice software provides exercises in which sutdents work example items, usually one at a time, and receive feedback on their correctness. Types of drill and practice are sometimes distinguished by how the program tailors the practice session to students needs. I think the drill and practice is a great way to get students ready for tests instead of using worksheets and homework exercises. I know that when I become a teacher this will be a great software for me to use in my classroom!!:)

Much Better Week!

I feel like this week is going much better than the last two. I feel like I am on top of my assignments, and actually know what I am suppose to be doing. This week I had four matches which was alot, but I feel like they all went very well. I am very pleased on how everything is going!!:) I also feel like I am getting to know much more about technology which is very exciting for me!! This week I posted my very own you tube video, and I didn't think it was difficult at all to do! I was very surprised on how well I handled the you tube assignment. Well I hope everyone's week is going well too! Tonight I get to go to my home town fair which I am pumped about!! Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

My Sis and I

This is a picture of my sister Heather and I in Las Vegas this Summer. Our whole family went to Las Vegas for a friend's wedding my sister was in. We stayed for a week which not to mention was a very HOT week. While we were there the tempurature got up to 116 degrees. I still had a great time though, and would like to visit there again someday!!

Me and my WONDERFUL Roomie Lis!!

This is my roommate Alissa and I in Florida last year on Spring Break. We met out Freshman year in the dorms at USF and we have been the best of friends ever since. I couldn't ask for a better friend....she is always there for me not matter what!!:)

My Second Blog!!:)

Hello everyone,
So, I am sure everyone can agree with me that this was quite a stressful week. I feel like this week was just very over whelming with homework assignments, and all kinds of stuff that is due. But, what do you know we all got through it perfectly fine. I am feeling more confident with this class, and I am excited to keep learning more about technology even though it can be frustrating at times. I am very glad that it is finally the weekend, and I get to take a little break. I have a tennis match tomorrow in Indianapolis which I am very excited about, and hopefully we will all do great! It's quite a drive and I have to get up at six in the morning, but I am really looking forward to it. Plus....I get to go shopping afterwards!! Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe weekened!

A little bit about me!!:)

Hello everyone,
My name is Nicole Cress, and I am junior here at the University of Saint Franis. My major is Elementary Education, and I absolutely love it! I feel like I couldn't have picked a better major and school to fit myself. I also play tennis at USF, and I actually have my first match tomorrow which I am very excited about! I have to admit I was a little nervous and overwhelmed the first day of class, but am feeling much more confident. I am ready to learn more about technology through out the semster of this class!
